President Rodrigo Duterte is cutting his trip to Japan short, presidential spokesperson Salvado Panelo says. He says this is "due to unbearable pain in his spinal column near the pelvic bone," which he also says is from the falling off a motorcycle last Thursday.

President Duterte arrives in Japan to attend the coronation of the country's new Emperor Naruhito.
President Rodrigo Duterte is attending the coronation of the new Japanese emperor and two banquets during his fourth visit to Japan after initially begging off due to being busy.
Japanese Emperor Naruhito ascended to the throne in May but the formal enthronement ceremony is set on October 22.
