Tropical Depression Ester has exited the Philippine Area of Responsibility. 

The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said that as of 4 a.m. Saturday, "Ester" was estimated at 635 kilometers north northeast of Basco, Batanes. 

It has maximum sustained winds of 60 kilometers per hour near the center and gustiness of up to 90 kph.

The state weather bureau says that southwest monsoon or habagat continues to affect several parts of Luzon.

Among the areas affected are Ilocos Region, Cordillera Administrative Region, Batanes, Babuyan Group of Islands, Tarlac, Pampanga, Bataan and Zambales. Residents in the areas are advised to be vigilant for possible flooding or landslides due to moderate to occasional heavy rains.

Metro Manila, Calabarzon, Mindoro and the rest of Central Luzon will experience cloudy skies with light to moderate rains and isolated thunderstorms.

The state weather bureau says the tropical depression was last seen 295 kilometers north of Basco, Batanes, based on its 4 p.m. bulletin.

"Ester" packs maximum sustained winds of 60 kilometers per hour near the center and gustiness of up to 90 kilometers per hour. It is expected to move east northeast at 25 kph. 

Southwest monsoon or habagat continues to prevail over parts of Luzon.

Among the areas affected include the Ilocos Region, Cordillera Administrative Region, Batanes, Babuyan Group of Islands, Tarlac, Pampanga, Bataan and Zambales. Residents in the areas are warned against possible flooding or landslides due to moderate to occasional heavy rains.

Metro Manila, Calabarzon, Mindoro, rest of Cagayan Valley and of central Luzon will experience cloudy skies with light to moderate rains and isolated thunderstorms.

PAGASA says the low pressure area located west northwest of Batanes has developed into a tropical depression.

Tropical Depression Ester may enter the Philippine Area of Responsibility between Thursday night and Friday morning.

In its 5 p.m. bulletin, PAGASA says“Ester” was last seen 335 kilometers northwest of Basco, Batanes. It packs maximum sustained winds of 55 kilometers per hour near the center and gustiness of up to 65 kilometers per hour.
