MANILA, Philippines — British actor Aaron Taylor-Johnson has reportedly been offered the role of James Bond, succeeding Daniel Craig who portrayed Agent 007 for 15 years.

A sourced told British tabloid The Sun that "Bond is Aaron's job, should he wish to accept it. The formal offer is on the table and they are waiting to hear back."

The "they" in question is supposedly longtime Bond producers EON Productions. The studio, however, has yet to comment on the issue.

"Aaron is going to sign his contract in the coming days and they can start preparing for the big announcement," the source also said.

The 33-year-old Taylor-Johnson is one of the favorites to play Bond along with Henry Cavill, Idris Elba, Tom Hardy, Richard Madden, Cillian Murphy, and Regé-Jean Page.

"I find it charming and wonderful that people see me in that role. I take it as a great compliment," Taylor-Johnson told Numero Magazine last week when he was asked about being tapped for Bond.

Taylor-Johnson is best known for starring in the "Kick-Ass" films, "Godzilla," "Avengers: Age of Ultron," "Tenet," "Bullet Train," and "Nocturnal Animals," for which he won a Golden Globe for Best Supporting Actor in a Motion Picture.

His 2024 slate includes "The Fall Guy" with Ryan Gosling and Emily Blunt, the Sony-Marvel comic book movie "Kraven the Hunter," and Robert Eggers' remake of "Nosferatu."
