How Team Kramer maintains strong family bond

Team Kramer is one of the most famous and most good-looking families on social media. Power couple Chesca and Doug Kramer appeared on “Fast Talk with Boy Abunda,” where they shared how they raise their three lovely kids, maintain their strong family bond and keep their romance alive.
Their children Kendra, Scarlet and Gavin have grown up in the public eye. According to Doug, the siblings are now almost the same height and taller than their mom. Who do they resemble? He answered, “Kung makikita mo iyong mga pictures ko when I was a teenager, Kendra and I look alike a lot. And Gavin also. Si Scarlet is very Chesca, but a tall version.”
Chesca added, “But some people say na kamukha ko rin si Kendra kasi siguro iyong mga mannerisms ni Kendra are very much like my mannerisms.”
The siblings are actively into sports. Kendra is a swimmer, Scarlet is a tennis player and Gavin plays basketball.
Kendra is now 17 and will soon enter college. Many netizens say that she is beauty queen material. Doug said, “Ang sabi niya, gusto ko muna to try and make the Philippine team in swimming. And then she will graduate college, and then we’ll see how the Ms. Universe thing goes.”
This young lady definitely knows what she wants in life and understands the importance of proper timing.
Meanwhile, Scarlet takes tennis very seriously. Three coaches help her excel in the sport. She is inspired by young tennis sensation Alex Eala, whom she recently met at an event. Scarlet and Kendra stayed in Australia, where they trained in their respective sports for three months.
As a former cager, Doug couldn’t hide his smile while he talked about Gavin’s love for basketball. “Gavin really chose basketball. And for a while, like lang siya. ‘I like the sport. I like basketball.’ But now, he truly loves basketball, which is a difference maker,” he enthused.
The husband and wife are hands-on in raising their children. “I wouldn’t say we’re strict. Actually, we’re spoilers,” Chesca admitted.
Doug added, “We know how to balance. We spoil the kids, but we’re also very strict in terms of their discipline, their commitment, their school, their sports. No excuses. You have to show up every day.”
They always sit down as a family to discuss different things. Chesca shared that they have Bible study every Sunday. “Every day we have dinner together. Dinner dahil may school na. So, dinner talaga kailangang sabay-sabay kami. Naghihintayan kami. Then nag-uusap kami. ‘Kamusta ka? How was your day?’”
The couple has been together for a long time. Doug said, “Boyfriend-girlfriend, 2003, so that’s 23. But married, 18 years this year.” Doug focuses on how he can be the best husband and father to his family. Chesca said time and communication are keys to keeping their romance aflame. She also thinks putting God at the center of their relationship has done wonders for their marriage.
And they just love each other’s company. “Hindi kami umaalis. Pag umaalis man kami, magkasama kami laging dalawa and we’re always with family and our close friends. Kung sino ang mga ka-hang-out namin noong nagsisimula pa lang kami, iyon pa rin hanggang ngayon. We’re very protective of our circle,” Chesca explained.
“No room for temptation because we’re always together,” Doug remarked.
