Westlife lead singer Shane Filan: I really love the Philippines

MANILA, Philippines — Westlife lead singer Shane Filan serenaded thousands of fans in a sold-out concert in KIA Theater, Araneta Center, Quezon City. 

“It’s so good to be back in the Philippines. I love this country. I really, really do love this country. Every time I come here, I get this reaction and I feel like this on stage and it’s so nice to be here. Thank you so much, guys. I love you all here.  You guys are not like any fans in the world. You’re just different, you’re just amazing, really amazing,” Shane told the crowd.

Shane opened the concert with “Everything To Me,” “About You,” and “Unbreakable.” 

He followed it with a cover of rival boy band NSync’s “This I Promise You” and his Westlife’s own hit “Swear It Again,” and his own hit “Beautiful In White,” which made the theater roar and the audience sing along with the songs.   

But the highlight of the night was when guest Jed Madela joined Shane on stage to sing “Flying Without Wings.” Their performance left the crowd hanging and wanting for more duets from the two. 

The KIA Theater crowd also sang a birthday song for Patrick, Shane’s son which the singer posted on his Instagram account. In the post, Shane said: “Happy 10th birthday to my son Patrick, all the way with love from Philippines.”

Other hits performed by Shane were “Home,” “My Love,” “If I Let You Go,” “You Raise Me Up,” “Uptown Girl,” and “World of our Own.”

“Manila, thank you all so much. That was amazing. I loved singing with you all tonight. Salamat,” Shane wrote on his Instagram account.
