MANILA, Philippines — Another Barretto is on the rise in show business: this time, in music.

Claudia Barretto is now the latest addition to Universal Records' outstanding roster of recording artists as she debuts her new single, “Stay.”

“Stay” reached as high as number 4 on Spotify Philippines' Viral 50 Chart on the first week of its release, while its music video garnered an astonishing 100,000 views in just five days.

Daughter of Marjorie, niece of Gretchen and Claudine and younger sibling of Julia, the 17-year-old singer said she is not feeling the pressure of having a talented clan.

“No naman! Even my siblings and mom they’re not like that towards me. Like I don’t want to be as great as them. As long as I'm doing my best, for me it’s enough,” said Claudia.

She chooses the song "Stay" because upon hearing it, she just know it is the song she wanted to record. “I just felt it is the right one. The song is about when you meet someone and you don’t know if he stays around, just like the song itself you ask him to stay.”

Recently, in the talk show “Tonight with Boy Abunda,” Claudia revealed that she has a boyfriend named Basti Lorenzo and she has been posting photos of them on Instagram.

Asked by the media what makes her “stay” with a person, Claudia said, “When you know the person will make you better.”
