MANILA, Philippines — “Sarah s’yempre!”

That is the expected answer of singer and actor Matteo Guidicelli when asked by Philstar.com on who he wants to see in Darna’s gold and red bikini – girlfriend Sarah Geronimo or “Dolce Amore” co-star Liza Soberano.

The role was recently given to Soberano. She is now working out to prepare for fight scenes and fit into the boots of the Filipino comics character invented by Mars Ravelo.

Matteo, however, has no objections of Liza being chosen to become Darna instead of Sarah.

“Liza deserves it talaga. She’s working for it very, very hard talaga. I know that because of ‘Dolce’,” Matteo explained.

“It will be great,” according to him, to also play a superhero. If given the chance, he would like to be Superman, Superman’s Filipino counterpart, Captain Barbell, or a new superhero altogether.

It will also be great to see Matteo playing Captain Barbell with Sarah as Darna, just as Sarah’s fellow “The Voice Teens” coach Sharon Cuneta became Darna in a film where Edu Manzano was Captain Barbell.

Like Captain Barbell and Darna, Matteo and Sarah, or as their fans call them Team Ashmatt, will always have each other’s backs.

May it be in money or fame, “We’re not in competition,” Matteo stressed.

“What matters is how much you love somebody,” he enthused, saying it like a true superhero who is always there to save the day and to wrap his supernatural biceps around his Lois Lane, Sarah.
