Kabesang Tales raps & rolls in Kawit on Sept. 11
MANILA, Philippines - Red Lantern Productions’ Rap en Rol Musical play Kabesang Tales goes on stage in the Kawit Municipal Town Hall and Island Cove Leisure Park in Cavite on Friday, Sept. 11.
John Arcilla (photo) plays/sings the title role of Kabesang Tales, the ill-fated El Filibusterismo peasant who took up arms against the abusive Spanish Government and Church that dispossessed him of his land and stripped him of his honors.
Also in the cast are singer/actors Dio Marco and Brylle Mondejar, under the direction of stage/film megman Alejandro “Bong” Ramos.
The performance is sponsored by the Kawit Municipal Government through Mayor Reynaldo Aguinaldo.
It is part of the Araw ng Kawit celebration, under the auspices of Kawit Tourism and Cultural Affairs.
