KC rolls with the punches

DIRECT LINE - Boy Abunda -

KC Concepcion has an exciting life now and in the future. She’s adventurous, relevant, even risqué. I think it is important that we don’t focus too much on what’s yet to happen and inadvertently ignoring the present. This is KC seizing the now and freely rolling with the punches.

Kristina is willing to learn about anything and nothing about life and hosting. She is a dream student — diligent, driven and unafraid. As an interviewer, she’s both interesting and interested. She listens intently. And she works hard doing her own research by calling up friends, soliciting stories and questions about a guest. Think 10 years from now. She’ll be an interview diva. And she’s the type who wouldn’t stop inventing and re-inventing herself and what she does.

“Tito, do you manage Tita K? (K Brosas),” she inquired. “Yes,” I quipped. “What do you think can we talk about?” “Talk about anything. Oh by the way, ask her if there is one lesson in love that she would want to teach you, what would it be? And has she ever courted a man?

K is a hilarious woman and has an epic love story. KC asked the first one but decided not to ask the latter in her KCX portion in The Buzz. She exercised prudence, perhaps not wanting to offend. Her sense of judgment is way beyond her years and bottom line she is truly marespeto.

And oh, how she loves to laugh at anything, at nothing and at herself.

Kuh in Hong Kong for Independence Day show

Great things are happening to Kuh Ledesma, the original Pop Diva. She sang the second version of GMA News theme song Panata sa Bayan, launched in 24 Oras. Panata ng Bayan will play on AM and FM stations of GMA. The first version was sung by Sugarfree.

On June 12, Ms. Kuh will be in Hong Kong for the Philippine Independence day celebration. The celebration is in cooperation with Philippine Association of Hong Kong (PAHK) and Philippine Airlines. PAHK was formed on May 28, 1981 under the Societies Ordinance (Cap. 151). On Sept. 13, 1994, the PAHK became an incorporated body when it registered as a non-stock and non-profit company limited by guarantee under the Companies Ordinance (Cap. 32). From its inception, the PAHK has evolved into an organization which, among others, promotes friendship, fellowship and understanding, and provides forum for the exchange of information among members who do not only include Philippine nationals, but friends from other countries who embrace the objects and purposes of the Association. The PAHK also supports charitable causes and in recent years, has spearheaded projects that aim to benefit a wider sector of the Filipino community in Hong Kong.

Ms. Kuh will also be part of the new GMA 7 teleserye starring Dingdong Dantes and Marian Rivera titled Endless Love directed by Mac Alejande. She was Al Gore’s special guest last June 8 at SMX.

Robin warns daughter’s suitors

Queenie Padilla, eldest daughter of Robin Padilla and Liezl Sicangco, is now carving a name for herself in showbiz. At 18, she has blossomed into a fine, beautiful, young lady. She shimmers with brilliance and charisma which she inarguably inherited from her father.

It seems Queenie cannot elude the call of showbiz because it runs in her blood. Mommy Eva Cariño revealed that Queenie was already interested in showbiz since she was a toddler. Who else but Robin is proud of his daughter and boasts that Queenie can do action, comedy and drama? If Robin is okay with Queenie entering the fascinating world of showbiz, is it also okay for him if guys start courting his daughter? Robin said that he has a beautiful daughter and it will really upset him if no one will court her. Always a loving and protective father, Robin warned anybody who courts Queenie to be careful.
