An exciting swashbuckling adventure

-

MANILA, Philippines - Tomorrow and on Sept. 27, Oct. 11 and 31, Nov. 8, 22 and 29, 3 p.m., Theater Down South presents Treasure Island, a musical by Jim Eiler and Jeanne Bargy. Based on the classic Robert Louis Stevenson novel, the show takes you on an exciting, swashbuckling, treasure-seeking adventure.

Theater Down South is a company dedicated to providing quality educational and family entertainment to communities in the south metro area (Parañaque, Muntinlupa, Las Piñas and further down SLEX). It has actors based in the South and promotes a theatergoing culture in this area.

The company is now on its third year and has two other productions (A Midsummer Night’s Dream and Rapunzel) under its belt.

The event also features an educational exhibit. There’s a 3D replica of the Globe Theater, fun facts and games about the Brothers Grimm and their fairy tales.

For Treasure Island, the display includes information on Pirates and Pirate Life and a 3D shipwreck.

A free pirate pouch for each child, which will contain chocolate candy coins provided by Goya will be given away.

The shows also come with pre-theater classroom visits and post-show discussions with the actors.
