The Wrestler star plays Juliet

RALEIGH, North Carolina (AP) — Evan Rachel Wood (photo), who plays Mickey Rourke’s estranged daughter in The Wrestler, is returning to her theatrical roots.

Wood joins her brother and father at Theatre In The Park in Raleigh to appear for a special engagement in Shakespeare’s Romeo & Juliet. Wood, who is from Raleigh, will star as Juliet.

Performances are scheduled to begin in May. Theatre In The Park spokeswoman Carol Vilardo says no specific dates have been set.

Wood’s brother, Ira David Wood IV, will make his directorial debut with the production. Ira David Wood III, their father, will play Capulet.
