Academy of Eskrima pormal nga gibuksan

Ang grandmaster nga si Dionisio 'Diony' Cañete sa nabantog na kaayong Doce Pares, usa sa labing mahayluon nga martial artists sa kasaysayan sa Amerika, hingpit nga mibukas sa labing unang martial arts school sa nasud -- ang Academy of Eskrima Martial Arts Incorporated.

Si Cañete maoy nangulo sa paglusad sa labing unang pormal nga tunghaan sa martial arts sa milabay'ng mga adlaw  dito sa NS Royale Pension uban sa eskrima martial artists gikan sa nagkalain-laing kanasoran sa tibuok kalibotan.

Ang pagtukod ug pag-establisar sa Academy of Eskrima Inc. naaprobahan, narehistro ug giila sa kagamhanan pinaagi sa Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA).

“What was once an ordinary club has evolved into an educational institution. Arnis now is being organized by an academy, which is under the educational system of the Philippines,”  matud pa ni Silvano Maranga, ang TESDA Region 11 director, kinsa mitambong sab sa launching.

“This form of martial art that was started by the sons of Lapu-Lapu is very rich in history and culture. It teaches skills that came from our ancestors. And it is good to know that we will be assured that it will be to handed down to our younger generation,” dugang ni Maranga.

Alang kang Cañete, ang Academy nakapatinuod  sa  dugay na kaayo niyang gipangandoy.

“I’ve had this dream since the early 70s and it finally came true,” said Cañete, who brought the art to Hollywood in 1975 upon the invitation of the company that brought Bruce Lee to the world. “I demonstrated the sport twice and they all said that a lot of people would want to learn the sport because it is unique. And that challenged me,”  matud ni Cañete.

Ang  Academy Eskrima nagtanyag og course programs sa Philippine Martial Arts of Eskrima (arnis), single stick eskrima (solo olisi), long stick eskrima (doble olisi), long stick fighting (bangkaw), long and short weapon fighting (espada y daga), knife fighting (baraw), long blade/sword fighting (estokada/sundang) ug empty hand (mano-mano).

Ang eskrima adunay tulo ka klase ug kini mao ang Larga Mano (Long Range Eskrima), Media Largo (Medium Range Eskrima)  ug ang Corto (Close or Short Range Eskrima).

Sa laing bahin, ang Corto gilangkuban og tulo ka nagkalain-laing estilo -- Corto Linyar (Traditional Linear Striking), Corto Kurbada (Curving, Snap-wrist and Flick Striking Eskrima) ug Corto Orihinal nga naila na kaayo nga San Miguel Eskrima.
