Christmas with the stars

SIZZLING HOT - SIZZLING HOT By Juliana Palermo -
Time flies and the Christmas spirit hasn’t come around until last Thursday when I was driving and the traffic was unbelievable.

There are many different family traditions when it comes to celebrating certain occasions, especially Christmas.

Let’s see how some of our celebrities will spend this year’s holidays.

Manilyn Reynes:
"We’re spending Christmas here in Manila. I can’t go to Cebu because of my busy schedule but the whole family is together, and that’s why it’s going to be a wonderful Christmas.

"We will thank the Lord for the good year, the good health and all the blessings He continues to shower upon us."

Alfred Vargas:
"My family, mother-side, will have noche buena at my new townhouse in QC. Christmas Day will be spent at my hometown, Sta. Maria, Bulacan, where my paternal relatives are. On the 26th, I will fly to New York to spend New Year’s Day at Disneyworld Orlando, Florida, with my girlfriend LJ Reyes and her family."

Uma Khouny:
"My younger sister will give birth to her first baby anytime this week, so I will just be at home waiting for that moment to happen and most likely meet up with Sam Milby and Say Alonzo."

Aubrey Miles:
"I’m going to Seattle for Christmas with Troy Montero. This is basically our fourth year there and for New Year’s, we usually fly to Las Vegas with Troy’s family. But this time, we’re spending it in New York. We plan to visit my family in Los Angeles after that. It’s going to be all partying for the holidays!"

Sherilyn Reyes:
"The family is going to Singapore for the holidays. It’s the first family trip, as in complete talaga kami with the kids. This was a promised trip for the kids, especially Paoie since he’s been doing very well in school."

Lani Mercado-Revilla:
"Normally, the noche buena is done in my house. We host the dinner after Mass. My side of the family has a reunion on a different day for my father’s birthday, too.

"For Christmas Day, tradition na talaga sa mga Revillas na may pumipila sa labas ng house nila and they give goods (food). So, we give a portion of what we have, tapos sila yung nag-di-distribute. On the 31st, for New Year’s, we stay inside the church together as a tradition. We stay with my father-in-law and the family at the stroke of midnight. Then we go back to my father-in-law’s residence and open gifts.

"We don’t open gifts on Christmas Day because of the Christmas rush. This way, we have a time to shop. We usually exchange gifts, while the children always receive gifts from us every year."

Maritoni Fernandez:
"I’m spending the holidays with my family, of course. Christmas Day will be spent with an early dinner, Mass and an exchange of gifts just before midnight.

"Normally, for New Year’s Eve until midnight, we stay with my mom. It’s like a tradition. She wants to be with her kids at the stroke of midnight. And then we do our own thing.

Judy Ann Santos:
"We have thanksgiving Mass at home every year, since we have Our Lady of Manaoag in my place. Then we will watch Kasal, Kasali, Kasalo on Christmas Day."

Tomorrow is the showing of Kasal, Kasali, Kasalo. I’ve been hearing a whole lot of rumors about Judy Ann getting jealous of me because of Ryan Agoncillo, her significant other.

Well, guess what? It is absolutely true. In fact, they even got into a fight over me! (in the movie that is).

So, if you want to see how all that action went, please watch Kasal, Kasali, Kasalo which got an A rating from the Cinema Evaluation Board.

And since it’s the holidays, I would like to send out a few little tokens of appreciation for Christmas to those who have been following my articles every Sunday.

My very first article for The Philippine Star was entitled This Is My Life and was broken down into two parts.

The first five persons who could give me the exact dates on when these two articles were published will receive a little something from me.

Please e-mail your answers to [email protected] and I will gladly respond as soon as possible. Have a blessed Sunday today, an awesome noche buena tonight and a Merry Christmas!
