Prettiest faces and '99 '10 best' list

- Ricky Lo -

ent1When you come right down to it, when you, well, narrow down the field, you realize that there are not really that many faces to choose from. It's ironic considering the dozens and dozens of faces adoring the big and small screens today.

Oh, yes, many of the faces are charming and seductive but they're not pretty. Some of the faces are sexy (with that "come and get it look," you know!) but they are hardly pretty. Others are beautiful (ravishingly so) but, sigh, they, too, can't be considered pretty.

ent1Prettiness has something to do with that doll-like look, that gamin quality, something you don't really associate with sex. In fact, according to a beauty expert, "Pretty girls are often not sexy; they are nice to pinch (in the cheek, yes) and to cuddle (without malice now) but they don't have that `bed' appeal (get what it means?). Pretty faces are good to look at, they brighten up any cloudy day, they perk up your spirit, not your libido."

Several Funfare readers have been asking me to list down the actresses (not older than 25) I consider "pretty" but when I scanned the showbiz landscape, I could come up with only eight names, not the 10 the readers are asking for (so sorry, but isn't this batch good enough?).

So here are Funfare's Parade of Pretty Faces (at random):

* Donita Rose

* Kristine Hermosa

* Camille Pratts

* Beth Tamayo

* Angelika dela Cruz

* Giselle Toengi

* Anne Curtis

* Vina Morales

Other readers have also asked me to list down my (take note: emphasis on my) lists of the 10 Best Films, 10 Best TV Shows and 10 Best Radio Programs in 1999 (if they were the best in 1999, they should be better in Year 2000 and, hopefully, beyond).
