‘One Visayas’ gears up for MLO finals

CEBU, Philippines - The road to redemption starts for Team Visayas athletes as they try to  regain the overall supremacy in this year’s Milo Little Olympics National Finals this Friday in Sta. Cruz, Laguna.

Team Visayas now called ‘One Visayas’ has assembled the best team ever comprised with athletes from Cebu, Iloilo, Aklan, Bohol, and Dumaguete.

In the elementary division, athletics will be mainly composed of runners from Talamban Elementary School and San Matias E.S of Iloilo. The badminton will be represented by Maslog E.S.of Danao, while Sacred Heart School-Ateneo de Cebu and University of San Carlos will field athletes in the chess and football event.

The University of the Visayas and Trinity Christian School of Bacolod bets will compete in the gymnastics, University of San Jose-Recoletos in scrabble, SHS-AdC and University of Bohol in swimming, Cebu City Central School and Danao E.S in table tennis as Subangdaku E.S and Catmon Intergrated School spikers will represent Team Visayas in volleyball.

St.Robert’s International School and Central Philippines University that are all from Iloilo will play in the basketball and the boy’s tennis event.

Filamer Christian University and Antique's Delegate Angel Salazar Jr.Memorial School jins will compete in taekwondo Jordan E.S. of Guimaras will try their luck in table tennis.

University of San Carlos netters and SHS-AdC tracksters will lead the secondary team of Team Visayas, while the SHS-AdC basketball squad will also try to win the gold as USC and Talisay joined forces for the swimming event.

Completing the team are Southwestern University badminton players, Paref-Springdale booters, UV gymnasts, Bacolod's Trinity CS and USJ-R volleyball squads, Beatriz Durano School and University of St.La Salle jins as Antique netters will play in the boys tennis event.

One Visayas will try to spoil National Capital Region's dream of a four-peat championship in this multi-sport conclave bankrolled by Nestle Philippines.
