Billy Crawford courts controversy amid talk of transfer to ABS-CBN

Is it true that Billy Crawford will also join “ASAP 08,” the Sunday noontime show of ABS-CBN?

The news that Billy, who is very much identified with GMA 7, is signing up with ABS-CBN to host “Pinoy Dream Academy” sent shockwaves to a lot of people, especially to those who are very close to him like German Moreno and his former manager Raul Laurente. Joining Billy in PDA are Toni Gonzaga and Nikki Gil.

If this news is true, this would certainly break the heart of Kuya Germs even more. Although there were talks that alleged that Billy has signed the contract with ASAP 08, plus the earlier contract he signed as the host of PDA, it’s possible he was sent the contract abroad or it could have been signed by his new manager (Arnold Vegafria) on his behalf.

Billy is set to arrive next week from the US and he’s expected to have his hands full explaining the controversial nature of his transfer to ABS-CBN.  

Naturally, Kuya Germs and Raul felt bad with the way Billy handled his impending transfer to the Kapamilya network. Although he’s not an exclusive contract star of GMA 7, he’s committed to do another dance show for GMA 7. He’s supposedly set to discuss this matter with GMA upon his return from the US. But since he’s now being managed by Arnold Vegafria (who brokered his transfer to ABS-CBN), the prior agreement with GMA goes down the drain.

As an act of courtesy and respect to his mentors in GMA like Kuya Germs and Raul, Billy should have informed them of his desire to move to the Kapamilya network. It is rude to let those concerned know about the supposed transfer through the papers.

Cameras have started for “Iisa Pa Lamang,” the highly anticipated teleserye starring Gabby Concepcion and Claudine Barretto on ABS-CBN. The entire cast reported for its taping day last Monday, May 19.

After making his maiden appearance on TV via “Maalaala Mo Kaya,” Gabby revives his TV acting career by agreeing to be a mainstay of this new teleserye that features and actors and actresses from different generations teaming up in one giant teleserye.

Aside from Gabby and Claudine, “Iisa Pa Lamang” also stars Diether Ocampo, Angelica Panganiban, Cherie Pie Picache, Laurice Guillen, Matt Evans, Melissa Ricks and Ms. Susan Roces. Asia’s Nightingale Lani Misalucha will sing the program’s theme song.

“Iisa Pa Lamang” is under the direction of Ruel S. Bayani and Manny Palo.

It’s confirmed! Gary Valenciano will appear in 700 Club USA nationwide on June 3 before he starts his US concert tour.

But before he leaves for the US, Gary V will treat his fans to a musical treat via his concert series titled “His Love” which goes onstage beginning May 22 at the Music Museum. Other concert dates are May 23, 29 and 30, at the Music Museum.

Joining him as guests in his concert are his two sons Paolo and Gabriel Valenciano.

Gary is taking the opportunity to work with his sons. He dismisses the notion that once you get him for a concert, you also need to get his sons.

“Not necessarily. I’m just taking the opportunity that I can still get them to be the special guests in my concert. Kasi soon, they will not be joining me anymore because they have their own careers. Gabriel might be going to the States to study. Paolo has his own band (Salamin),” says Gary.

“Although I enjoy performing with them onstage, I don’t want Paolo to be continuously adjusting to me. I want him to create his own music. I don’t want to be a hindrance to their dreams. When Paolo finally decided to sing rock music, it’s up to him and I support him on that,” explains Gary.

Teen housemate Ejay’s Daddy Erning is Pinoy Big Brother’s (PBB) first ever Guardian Big Winner after he got a whopping 65.16% of the text votes during last Sunday’s live Guardian Big Night.

Together with the ex-teen housemates and guardians, the outside world formally welcome the last four Guardians standing lead by Daddy Erning who won a cash prize of P500,000 and a business franchise from Whammy Waffles.

The fisherman from Mindoro can’t help but broke down in tears after learning that he bested the three other Guardians vying for the title and tearfully thanked everybody who voted for him.

Meanwhile, Italian Valentino Alex’s Mommy Minda emerged the Guardian 2nd Big Placer and won P250,000 plus a business franchise from Whammy Waffle.

In-Chick Nicole’s Mommy Sandy, on the other hand, came in 3rd place followed by Junior Kengkoy Nan’s Mommy My Love in 4th place. Sandy and My Love received a cash prize of P150,00 and P100,000 respectively and a business franchise of Potato Cuddler.

Weeks from now, the PBBTEP Big Winner will also be revealed. Who among Teen Housemates Ejay, Nicole, Nan, Alex, Rona, Beauty, Valerie and Robi will win thetitle?
