BLUE BELL, Philadelphia Critical business transactions need fast, secure alternative methods to traditional paper-based mail delivery.
Unisys has enhanced its e-@ction workflow and imaging solution portfolio with FormFiler version 1.1 which gives businesses a means of inexpensively and quickly completing transactions electronically.
Unisys workflow and imaging solutions target the high-volume production workflow and document management market that is key to industries such as banking, insurance and government.
The addition of the FormFiler solution assists these paper-intensive businesses by minimizing or eliminating the need for handling paper forms within the enterprise while, at the same time, lowering processing costs and freeing up valuable resources.
"By incorporating the Comfidex-patented FormFiler technology with our existing suite of Unisys e-@ction workflow and imaging products and professional services, we provide our customers with solutions that minimize reliance on traditional mail delivery services," said Robert West, vice president and managing principal of Unisys Global e-@ction Workflow and Imaging program. "This enables transactions to be processed faster and safer, while greatly reducing the cost and human effort involved with various aspects of data collection, data entry and data integrity."
Using a patented unique identifier process at the time of e-form submission, FormFiler enables companies to associate Internet-submitted data with hard copy documents.
End-users simply fill out and submit e-forms that require a wet-ink signature via the Internet. Documents can be printed directly by the end-user, who can then fax (or scan and e-mail) them directly to the business client. When the document is received, FormFiler automatically matches it with the computer-readable data, eliminating the need for manual entry.
Even at low volumes, the cost per transaction to a US-based firm is less than the cost of a postage stamp. By minimizing or eliminating the manual process, businesses can realize a cost savings of approximately 40 to 50 cents of direct labor costs in the US and 25 to 35 cents offshore per form.
