More foreign firms to unveil new food, aggie technologies

More foreign firms are set to unveil their latest technologies to the local food and agribusiness industries at the staging of Agrilink/Foodlink 2003 at the World Trade Center Metro Manila on Oct. 16 to 18.

These companies include the US-based Ag-World Inc., UK-Thai joint venture MPP-Triumph, Taiwan’s Sparkler Far East Ltd., and Sri Lanka’s Mlesna.

Ag-World Inc. has supplied more animal breeding stock to the Philippine government and the local industry than any other company since 1977. These include purebred swine, goats, sheep, beef and dairy cattle, and Renco equipment for pregnancy and backfat testing. The company has worked in 72 countries worldwide.

In the feed mill industry, MPP-Triumph provides a comprehensive range of services and equipment to over two hundred customers worldwide. From design, construction, installation and turnkey feedmill projects to single machine supply, the company offers fast efficient after-sales service and a complete range of spare parts.

MPP-Triumph has been a major supplier of such technologies and services to animal and aquatic feed producers for over 20 years. Its operations is supported by the in-house design office and factory facilities in Thailand, which enables the company to provide the customers’ specific feed production needs with cost-efficient solutions, involving a high degree of design innovation, machine quality and plant automation.

On the other hand, Sparkler Far East Ltd. is involved in environment protection, edible oil extraction, system design and erection or rendering, aquaculture and animal, feed mill plants, and chemical material drying, storage, cooling and conveying systems.

In environment protection, Sparkler offers treatment systems for food residue, and organic, municipal solid, hazardous, and hospital wastes.

The company also provides suitable and efficient technology to produce high quality fertilizer for different soil improvement applications in agriculture, forestry, horticulture, landscaping, and other requirements of the soil industry.

In food and beverage, Mlesna offers superior quality teas and exquisite packaging that have earned it seven World Star awards from the World Packaging Organization.

With some 60 awards to its accreditation, Mlesna has over 3,500 product items marketed to more than 50 countries worldwide.

These companies, together with other foreign, multinational and local firms, will comprise the most comprehensive array of the world’s leading food and agribusiness players, products and technologies ever assembled in the Philippines for exhibition.

The others include local industry giants Monsanto Philippines Inc., General Milling Corp.’s subsidiary General Agri-Foods International Inc., and SMFI/B-MEG, to name a few.

Their products will be showcased in a whopping 11,500 square meters of total merchandising space, consisting of 8,100 sqms for indoor trade display and wholesale transactions, 2,400 sqms for retail trade and technology seminars and 1,000 sqms for outdoor exhibit.

With this year’s theme, "Corporate Citizenship: Touching Lives, Strengthening Linkages", technical experts from the United States, Europe and Asia have been invited to share their know-how in various aspect of food and agribusiness.
