Local IT firm wins contract to upgrade platform of Singapore-based wine rater

MANILA, Philippines — Local information technology (IT) firm RBS Software Solutions Inc., has won the contract to undertake the upgrade and development of the global IT systems of the prestigious Singapore-based international premium wine rating consultant Robert Parker Wine Advocate, which is under the Michelin Guide group.

The awarding of the project was formalized with the signing of a contract between Lemuel Aceron, RBS Software Solutions president, joined by RBS Software chief technology officer Rodel Piano; and Carmelo Ubay, chief information officer of Robert Parker Wine Advocate, earlier this week in Quezon City.

Ubay said that the partnership with RBS Software Solutions comes as Robert Parker Wine Advocate starts an aggressive move to revamp and upgrade their e-commerce platform and make a foray to expand from their current B2C (business-to-consumer) model into B2B or business-to-business commercial arrangements to further tap into the burgeoning e-commerce opportunities in the global premium wine markets.

“We are confident that RBS Software Solutions has the world-class IT systems development expertise that can help us in our move to revamp and improve our e-commerce platform and its backend systems,” Ubay said.

RBS Software Solutions, based in Diliman, Quezon City, had its start in 2004 and boasts of its leaders’ experience in IT systems design, construction and development having logged in years as IT tech system engineers in global IT firms in Singapore.

Ubay said that world-class Filipino IT capabilities was acknowledged in Singapore with about 60 percent of Filipino professionals in the city-state working in IT companies and delivering satisfactory performance.

Aceron, for his part, pledged the commitment of RBS Software Solutions team to deliver a world-class e-commerce systems to their newest client, which he said was their first overseas client.
