Protect 2018 slated for March 12-13

MANILA, Philippines — Irreversible and accelerating changes in the global economy, climate change, artificial intelligence, demography, medicine, communications technology, social, political and military fields are building up as powerful forces that threaten to disrupt existing business models or to offer new opportunities.

Yet, these shifts are undetected by most C-level executives who would miss competitive opportunities and would lead their organizations into danger zones using strategies for growth guided by past and present experiences.

Experts in the annual conference, Protect 2018, Doing Business Amidst New Threats, to be held on March 12-13, at the New World Hotel in Makati, will present their evidence on the new landscapes and share insights and solutions oriented toward sustainable growth.

The one and a half day conference has four major sessions.

To keynote the event is Raymund Enriquez Liboro, chairman of the National Privacy Commission, who will discuss the importance of data in the new environment, the threats to privacy, compliance and building trust in organization.

Speakers are experts coming from Trend Micro, IBM, The US Federal Bureau of Investigation, Sykes, Booz | Allen | Hamilton, GE Power, Oracle, NTT Data Phil., Stephen Zuellig School of Development Management (AIM), National Resilience Council, International Centre for Political Violence & Terrorism Research, S. Rajaratnam School of International Studies, Nanyang Technology University of Singapore, the Turkish Embassy, Maria Ressa, and Dr. Mahar Lagmay.

Highlight of the session on security and war in the new age will be a presentation on the Philippine National Security Outlook by Gen. Hermogenes C. Esperon Jr., national security adviser.
