Suzuki plans new dealership

Louella Desiderio - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - Suzuki Philippines, Inc. is planning to open another integrated dealership this year to better serve customers and improve automobile and motorcycle sales.

“We plan to open the next integrated dealership in Northern Luzon this year,” Suzuki Philippines president Satoshi Uchida said in an interview.

He said opening another integrated dealership would support the firm’s aim of achieving higher automobile and motorcycle sales this year.

The company opened its first integrated dealership last month in Makati City.

An integrated dealership offers the firm’s automobile and motorcycle line-up and serves as a sales, service and spare parts shop.

The firm currently carries the following automobile products: compact cars Alto, K10 and Celerio, the five-door hatchback Swift, the Sx4 Crossover, the eight-seater APV Type II, the four-wheel drive Jimny and Grand Vitara, and the executive sedan Kizashi.

It is also presently selling nine motorcycle models.

The company decided to open an integrated dealership citing that buyers of automobiles and big bikes have the same profile.

Uchida said the firm’s integrated dealership in Makati has so far sold 10 motorcycles and 20 automobiles.

Depending on the success of the first integrated dealership, he said the firm may open more stores of that type in other locations in the country.

Suzuki Philippines aims to increase by 20 percent its automobile sales this year from the 4,501 units sold last year.

It also targets a 10 percent increase in motorcycle sales this year from the 94,000 units sold a year ago.
