'Isa sa utak': Marvin Miranda pinakakasuhan ng 9 counts ng murder sa Degamo slay
MANILA, Philippines — Inirekomenda na ng state prosecutors ang pagsampa ng kaso kay Marvin Miranda (alyas "Boss Martin") para sa siyam na counts ng murder, 13 counts ng frustrated murder, at four counts ng attempted murder kaugnay ng assassination kay dating Gov. Negros Oriental Roel Degamo.
Ito ang inihayag ng Department of Justice ngayong Miyerkules, matapos tukuyin ni Justice Secretary Jesus Crispin Remulla si Miranda bilang isa sa mga utak ng krimen, kasama ni suspended Rep. Arnolfo Teves Jr. (Negros Oriental 3rd District) na "highest mastermind" daw sa pagpapapatay kay Degamo.
"Based on disclosures made by Accused Antipolo, Javiet, Rodriguez, Labrador, and Rivero in their respective extra-judicial confessions, Miranda played an indispensable part in the planning of the assassination of the governor," sabi ng DOJ.
"The state prosecutors found that Miranda conspired in the commission of the crimes and recommended his indictment, together with Accused Antipolo, Isturis, Javier, pattaguan, E. Gonyon, and JL Gonyon, who were previously charged in court."

Matatandaang pinatay si Degamo noong ika-4 ng Marso habang inaasikaso ang mga benepisyaryo ng Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program sa kanilang bahay. Kilala siyang karibal ni dating Negros Oriental Gov. Pryde Henry Teves, kapatid ni Arnolfo.
Ika-27 ng Marso nang maaresto ng National Bureau of Investigation-National Capital Region si Miranda sa hot pursuit operation sa Barbaza, Antique kung saan siya diumano nagtatago. Tinutukoy din siya bilang "dating bagman" ni Arnolfo.
Prinesenta naman si Mikranda sa DOJ state prosecutors para sa inquest proceedings noong ika-3 ng Abril matapos maaresto noong March 13. Sinasabi ng DOJ na naaresto si Miranda sa isang "hot pursuit" operation kahit na nahuli siya ilang linggo na ang nakakalipas mula sa krimen.
Hindi pa inilalabas ng DOJ ang buong kopya ng resolusyon.

Lilitisin ng state prosecutors ngayon ang mga sumusunod na kasong inihain na noon laban kina Joric Labrador, Joven Javier, Banjie Rodriguez at Osmundo Roias Rivero na siyang inihain ng Office of the Provincial Prosecutor ng Negros Oriental:
- siyam na counts ng murder sa pagpatay kina Degamo, atbp.
- 13 na counts ng frustrated murder para sa mga nakakuha ng fatal injuries
- apat na counts ng attempted murder sa mga nag-sustain ng non-fatal injuries
"Given the recent arrest of Marvin Miranda, Justice Secretary Remulla is confident that the case is nearing its conclusion," sabi pa ng DOJ. "The Department will be releasing further updates on any developments on the Degamo Saly in the coming days."
