Globe Charge allows SMBs to accept MasterCard

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - Globe redefines cashless commerce with the launch of Globe Charge — a mobile card reader that transforms Android and iOS phones and tablets into mobile point-of-sale (POS) card terminals that accept debit and credit card payments, particularly MasterCard.

This innovative solution, created by G-Xchange Inc. (GXI), a wholly owned subsidiary of Globe Telecom, empowers small and medium businesses (SMBs) with a convenient payment device, eliminating the need for traditional and more expensive card terminals.

Globe Charge brings the synergy of mobile technology and cashless commerce into an entirely new dimension and will open up more opportunities for SMBs by allowing them to accept cashless transactions, thus expanding their markets.

Aside from the smartphone and mobile card reader, Globe Charge also includes a downloadable app from Google Play and the App Store, the business owner’s user account, a GCash wallet and Wi-Fi or free mobile data connection using a Globe or TM SIM to bring this solution to life.

Globe Charge is available through Globe myBusiness sales representatives and at Globe Stores in most SM Malls in Metro Manila, The Globe Tower in Bonifacio Global City, Greenhills, Glorietta, and TriNoma.

SMB owners can get the Globe Charge mobile card reader for free at Plan 999, which comes with a Samsung Galaxy Win, surfing-text-calling combos, plus consumables. They can also purchase it for a one-time payment of P999.
