WATCH: Alvarez OK with regulated initiation rites for fraternities
MANILA, Philippine — House Speaker Pantaleon Alvarez on Wednesday said he does not oppose fraternities and its initiation rites.

Citing his experience as the former president of Ateneo Law School’s Fraternal Order of Utopia, Alvarez suggested regulated initiation rites. He said fraternities should always have precautionary measures during initiation rites to avoid casualties which might result in criminal offense.
For Alvarez, if he survived the initiation rites others could too just as long as it is regulated.
