How James Reid, Nadine Lustre spent their first anniversary

MANILA, Philippines — “Super saya!” actress Nadine Lustre said of her first anniversary in Japan with on-and-off-screen partner James Reid.

It was February last year when the two made their relationship official at the Araneta Coliseum, during the concluding concert for their hit soap opera “On the Wings of Love,” which was then followed by “Till I Met You.”

Lustre said James had no anniversary gift, but for her, being with him was a gift already.

“Actually, umalis po kami 11 ng gabi, kaya ang anniversary namin [ay] sa airport!” she gushed in an interview with the press at last night’s Pond’s event.

“Ang bilis nga e! Nung nag-one year, ang sabi ko, ‘Feb 11 na?’ Sabi sa’kin ng friends ko, ‘O, tomorrow na! Tomorrow na!’ Tapos ako naman, ‘Oh shoot! Feb 11 na pala tomorrow! Super bilis! I’m really happy kasi we’ve grown. Parehas kami, individually, we’ve grown up,” Nadine said.

She denied that she had been rejecting projects because she wants to rest. “Viva really wants to give us a break kasi last year sunod-sunod na ang projects,” she explained.

In Japan, the two toured around the fashion district, Shibuya, as well as in Tokyo. What else did they do there? “More on food [trip]!” Jadine shared.

She said James is nervous to be on a duet with Sarah Geronimo in the variety show “ASAP” this Sunday. “Pero I’m pretty sure kaya naman n’ya i-pull-off yun. Magaling naman s’ya kumanta. So ang sabi ko, ‘Go mo lang yan. Kayang kaya mo yan.’”

As of now, she plans to continue promoting her perfume line, while she and James are finishing their individual albums. They also have a scheduled tour this March.

When she and James have a misunderstanding, how do they fix it? “Wala! Hug lang,” she said.

“Kung meron man, really simple lang naman. Ayaw na lang namin pansinin yung galit namin. Wala namang ‘di kayang ayusin!”
