Basti Artadi reveals having 'head' tumor

MANILA, Philippines – Basti Artadi revealed he has a head tumor.

In a Facebook post on Tuesday, Artadi said that “in 2009, I was diagnosed with a tumor in my head.”

He said this tumor is “on the nerves that control the right side of my face which is what is causing the paralysis.”

After this has manifested, the Wolfgang vocalist said he had to “relearn to sing with a paralyzed mouth and the fatigue that comes with it.”

However, this may not last for long since there’s a possibility that “because one side of my facial muscles are working more than the other the inevitable result is that my mouth is slowly being pulled to one side and the doctors have said that I will eventually not be able to talk much less sing.”

This led him to decide to undergo a facial procedure called “facial sling,” which will “temporarily” ease his situation.

Since the procedure will be costly, he decided to start a fund-raising activity, which is selling shirts with his face on it.

He thought that this shirt design will “be a good symbol for me getting back the lost symmetry, so no it’s not because I'm full of myself.”

This revelation by Artadi came four days before his performance for 9 Works Theatrical’s “Green Day’s American Idiot,” which will run from June 24 to July 10 at the Globe Iconic Store in Bonifacio High Street Amphitheater, Bonifacio Global City, Taguig.
