Bad drivers

Is this the quality of drivers we can expect today? We talked about the deadly accident that occurred on May 1st, where the driver of a Solid North bus fell asleep and crashed into four vehicles waiting to pay at the toll gate. Twelve people died, including four children. A vacation turned into a tragedy. Authorities have arrested the driver, suspended his license, and will now face multiple charges. The Solid North Bus Company’s operation has also been suspended for three months while the investigation is ongoing.

Last Sunday, an SUV crashed into the departure entrance of Terminal 1 of NAIA. Two people were killed, including a five-year-old girl. Four others were also injured. The driver of the SUV has also been arrested. Based on the initial investigation, the SUV was leaving after dropping off its passenger when a car passed in front of it. Surprised and startled by the car, the driver stepped on the gas instead of the brakes, causing the vehicle to jump the curb and crash into the entrance.

So, I ask again. Is this the quality of drivers nowadays? I'm sure the departing SUV was not moving fast enough to make him panic. Many vehicles in the NAIA Departure Area swerve where they can drop off passengers. Doesn't he know that? Doesn't he know what pedal he's stepping on? Department of Transportation Secretary Vince Dizon said it doesn't seem like he intentionally ran over passengers at NAIA. Yes, he's just a poor, bad driver. His license has also been suspended for three months, and he will undergo drug testing as stated in the law when people are killed or hurt. New NAIA Infra Corp. Please also investigate why the bollards lined up on the NAIA sidewalk did not stop the vehicle from jumping the curb. The purpose of these bollards is to prevent just that. These failed, resulting in deaths. If it is discovered that the bollards were not installed as per specifications then heads must roll.
