Man found dead by the road in Gaas, Balamban

CEBU, Philippines —  A man was found dead on the side of Transcentral Highway in Barangay Gaas, Balamban, Cebu yesterday at midnight.

Balamban Police Station investigator, Police Executive Master Sergeant Benedicto Bobilles, identified the man as Warlito Ocaba Laborte, legal age, a resident of Barangay Suba, Cebu City, based on his identification card.

Police found Laborte dumped on the roadside with five bullet wounds on his body.

Balamban police responded to the incident after the chairman of the barangay reported the incident to them.

In the same police report, a watchman (tanod) of the barangay reportedly noticed a resemblance of a Starex van spotted where the body was found.

The van hurriedly left towards Balamban town proper when the watchman approached the area.

Police have recovered empty shells of caliber .45 pistol.
