CEBU, Philippines - The round-up for anything NEW continues…Off the Grill. The Movenpick Hotel Mactan Island Cebu is introducing a classy barbeque dining experience that replicates the Brazilian culinary tradition of Churrasco. Marinated meats of fillet mignon, lamb chops, chicken thigh, baby back ribs, rib eye, beef ribs, and the freshest catch of fish, prawns and lobsters are skewered on a special, high class griller. The concept is basically referred to as espeto corrido where waiters move around the tables serving hot off the grill succulent fares on skewers and slice them onto the plates. The Brazilian Churrasco diners will be treated to an eat-all-you-can set-up to indulge in the unlimited meat and seafood grilled goodness, inclusive of sauces/dips, rice, Mediterranean vegetables, grilled corn on cob and stewed red beans. They’ll also enjoy the salad/appetizer buffet (The Pao de Quejo or cheese bread is a must-try!). Dessert is Churrasco Pineapple with Cinnamon to close the palate. Venue is set amidst the romantic Ibiza Beach Club which is a perfect al fresco venue to dine under the stars while enjoying the sea breeze and the nightly entertainment.

Sunday Brunch. Also at the Ibiza Beach Club is the Sunday Brunch, offering Asian fusion cuisine of Thai, Japanese, Chinese, among others, from 11:30am to 2:30pm for P1,800 net per person, inclusive of free flowing Celebrus Brut sparkling wine. Executive Chef Aaron Foster prepared a menu line-up that covers a wide range of flavors to tickle the palates of discerning diners: there’s dim sum infused with Thai and Filipino flavors, Peking duck spring rolls, steamed buns stuffed with lechon, a noodle bar of Asian noodles in spicy Thai tum yum broth, Korean seolleongtang broth and Japanese suimono broth.
Sisig Sizzle. Following the launch of its newest branch on A.S Fortuna Street which is also the address of the its new take-out counter, Golden Cowrie Filipino Restaurant continues to showcase Filipino flavors through its newest varieties for the staple beer match Sisig: Squid Sisig for the seafood lover who wishes to omit pork in their diet, and Tofu Sisig for those who are into healthy lifestyle.  Of course, they’ve also added a new dessert to cap the Filipino feast – the Budbud Turon drizzled with mango sauce, latik and caramel sauce then topped with sesame seeds. For Golden Cowrie’s Sisig, the new line-up contains green chilies for a spicy kick. Meanwhile, its new take-out counter offers the crispy Ngohiong, roasted chicken and fried liempo. Golden  Cowrie  and Hukad sa  Golden  Cowrie  have 14 branches nationwide. Cebu branches:   Robinsons Cybergate Cebu, G/F SM City Cebu, Mactan Marina Mall, Hukad sa  Golden  Cowrie  at 2/F The Terraces, Ayala Center Cebu, and Salinas Drive, Lahug (main branch).

Dancing Waiters. Beginning today, diners of Hikay Lutong Pinoy located at the Calyx Centre on Cebu IT Park, Lahug will be entertained by its dancing waiters every 45 minutes starting at 6:45pm. I heard they’ll do a Rihanna, J.Lo and a Katy Perry well-rehearsed number for that distinct taste of excitement while dining inside Hikay! (FREEMAN)
