CEBU, Philippines — Five-star Sheraton Cebu Mactan Resort is set to open over a hundred rooms come September 1, 2022.

Developed by Cebu-based AppleOne Mactan Inc., the luxury resort and residences is supposed to open last year, but opening was delayed due to the pandemic.

“It will be a soft opening on September 1, with around 50 percent of the rooms available and even amenities. But the pool, which is Bali inspired will be open; the all-day dining; and maybe one of the bars. Probably, the spa and gym. The grand opening will be December 2022 and all will be totally open to the public,” said AppleOne Mactan Inc., chief executive officer (CEO) Ray Manigsaca in an interview yesterday.

The 250-room luxury resort is managed by Starwood Hotels & Resorts, now Marriott International Inc.

Meanwhile, the Residence at Sheraton Cebu, which is set to open next year, is so far the first branded residences to be managed by the company South East Asia. An indication of the company's strong confidence of the fertile business potential for luxury living in the Philippines, specifically Cebu.

Majority of its residential units are situated in a 22-storey tower. More classy units are located in its Courtyard wing, with each unit having its own pool.

The P4 billion, five-hectare seaside project, is the first Sheraton brand in South East Asia.
