MANILA, Philippines — Now Super Liga, a new volleyball league put up by a powerhouse Integrity Board led by Dr. Philip Ella Juico and former Supreme Court Associate Justice Adolfo Azcuna, is to be unveiled soon, with integrity at the center of its vision for women’s professional volleyball.

The NSL said it is bringing together distinguished professionals to safeguard fair competition, champion athlete welfare, and strengthen accountability. The announcement signals a bold commitment to earning the confidence of team owners, players, partners, and fans as the league builds its future.

Behind this initiative is Juico, whose decades of leadership span national government, sports administration, and professional volleyball. A former chairman of the Philippine Sports Commission, secretary of Agrarian Reform, and chairman of the Philippine Superliga, he brings substantial experience in public service and competitive sports leadership. His involvement gives NSL an experienced foundation as it pursues its vision for responsible league development.

The powerhouse lineup includes sports governance specialist Prof. Dina Bernardo, marketing educator and strategist Dr. Catherine de Asis, Olympian and sports development leader Stephen Fernandez, registered dietitian-nutritionist Catherine Agnes Gervacio, physician-lawyer Charlie  Ho, corporate governance expert Atty. Teodoro Kalaw IV, and DepEd sports administrator and Palarong Pambansa Secretariat officer-in-charge Marivic Tolitol. Their collective expertise brings judicial judgment, athletic experience, health and wellness knowledge, and governance leadership to NSL’s integrity mission.

Within its approved mandate, the Integrity Board will review concerns, investigate credible allegations, and conduct fair disciplinary proceedings across competition integrity, athlete safety, anti-doping coordination, and governance and financial compliance.

For team owners, NSL offers an opportunity to help build a competition grounded in transparent rules, responsible franchise development, and professional accountability. For players, it pairs freedom of choice under its no-draft policy with a commitment to welfare and fair treatment.
