MANILA, Philippines —  Angelo Que turned a chaotic battle for second-round supremacy into a commanding display of class yesterday, firing a second straight 6-under 66 to seize a four-stroke lead halfway through the ICTSI Summit Point Championship.

The P2.5-million championship has been a scoring bonanza under winter rules despite wet and damp conditions, but Que now has clear separation. Carl Corpus, 25, matched his 66 with a sizzling frontside 29 to move to solo second at 136 as he sharpens for the Asian Games in Aichi-Nagoya. Cousin Aidric Chan, Reymon Jaraula and first-round leader Justin Quiban are tied for third at 137.

Meanwhile, Chanelle Avaricio turned a shaky opener into a statement, firing a bogey-free 69 to grab a one-stroke lead in the ladies championship.

After a 75 on Tuesday, the Pinewoods leg winner stayed patient for 11 holes, then ignited with birdies on 12, 13 and the par-5 16th for a 36-33 and a 144 total at Summit Point Golf and Country Club in Lipa City.
