Slovakian import sends strong signal

MANILA, Philippines — Cignal leaned on its new import Katrin Trebichavska as it repulsed a feisty Nxled, 25-21, 23-25, 20-25, 25-15, 16-14, yesterday to claim its first win streak in the PVL Reinforced Conference at the Ynares Center Montalban.
The Slovakian spiker bucked a few hours of sleep and debuted with 21 points including 17 on kills as the Super Spikers booked their second win in a row after starting the tournament with two straight defeats.
“Last night was the first night I got more than four hours of sleep,” said a cheerful Trebichavska, who replaced Eva Chantava. “I’m super proud that we won although it was a rough performance for me.”
“Hopefully I can help them do better in the future,” she added.
Cignal coach Shaq delos Santos knew the first time she saw Trebichavska that she was what the doctors ordered.
“In the first day that I saw her, I saw her adrenaline, aggressiveness, she’s jolly and also athletic,” said Delos Santos of the Slovakian. “I hope she can adjust and I know she will.”
