MANILA, Philippines — The nearly two-year drought is over for the Blackwater Bossing.

For the first time since October 17, 2020, the Bossing have won a PBA game after an emphatic 101-100 upset over the league-leading Magnolia Hotshots in their final game of PBA Governors' Cup eliminations at the Smart Araneta Coliseum on Wednesday.

After 29 grueling games, they finally snapped their losing streak.

Barkley Ebona scored on a transition basket after a steal to take back the lead for the Bossing after a 10-2 run by Magnolia had them trailing, 99-100.

Rey Suerte then had a defensive stop in the final possession of the ball game to seal the deal.

Suerte blocked a shot by Jackson Corpuz that could've been the game-winner for the Hotshots.

Shawn Glover top-scored for the Bossing with 33 points, nine rebounds and seven assists.

Meanwhile, Suerte, JVee Casio and Andre Paras combined for 40 points to pace the locals.

Game hero Ebona finished with eight markers.

For the Hotshots, Mark Barroca registered 27 points to lead them in the losing effort, including a fourth quarter explosion to lead Magnolia's comeback try.

The Bossing thus finished the conference with a 1-10 slate and avoided going down PBA infamy as the only team to go winless in a whole season.

Meanwhile, the Hotshots entered the quarterfinals as the top seed with a 9-2 record.
