Will Alapag make NBA coaching?

MANILA, Philippines — Jimmy Alapag is hoping for the best results in his NBA coaching aspirations with a crucial meeting with the Sacramento Kings front office this weekend.

The Filipino basketball legend said he has been invited by the Kings officials led by general manager (GM) Monte Mcnair following his role in the squad’s perfect NBA Summer League championship run as one of head coach Bobby Jackson’s assistants.

Sacramento director of operations Paul Johnson and Jackson, who also serve as GM and head coach of the team’s G League affiliate Stockton Kings, respectively, will also be in the meeting.

“We’ll see what happens. I don’t know. They just said they want to talk again. I’m excited to hear what they have to say. And we’ll go from there,” said Alapag in Noli Eala’s Power and Play program on Radyo Singko.
