MANILA, Philippines — Joshua Ramos of Derosa-Corsa and former national standout Alexandra Ganzon emerged as the top male and female finishers in the Clark Global City Duathlon 2019 co-presented by Smart last Sunday in Pampanga.

Ramos completed the long distance 6km run -60km bike -4km race with the best time of two hours, 27 minutes and 16 seconds to grab the male 18-24 age-group title. Ganzon, the former national duathlon champion, raced in the female 30-34 age group category and crossed the finish barely two minutes behind Ramos in 2:29:14. Hot on Ganzon’s heels was her male 30-34 counterpart, Oscar Miguel Mapalo of 2Wheel Nation Cycling club in 2:30:00. Mapalo’s fellow age grouper, Luigi Victor Robles of FIT.PH, rounded out the Top 3 fastest males with a time of 2:31:39.

Sharing honors with Ganzon were triathletes Bernadette Tan as the second fastest female and first place in the 45-49 age group with 2:51:15 and female 50-above champion Celma Hitalia with 2:57:25.

“We’re happy with the turnout of this race and considering the feedback from the participants, we’d be happy to support another edition next year if one gets planned,” said NLEX Sports head Allan Gregorio.

Gregorio and Wilfredo Placino, president of Global Gateway Development Corp., were on hand to award the winners their trophies.
