Toni Rivero

Marie Antoinette "Toni" Rivero is one of the most recognizable faces in Philippine taekwondo, having represented the country in the 2004 Athens Olympics and the 2008 Beijing Olympics.

She has racked up a handful of medals in her career as a taekwondo jin – one gold each in the 2003, 2005 and 2009 Southeast Asian Games, and a silver each in the 2006 Asian Games and 2007 SEA Games.

Toni came close to bagging a silver medal in the 2006 Athens Olympics but lost to Elisavet Mystakidou of Greece. She was then beaten in the bronze medal match.

The 23-year-old Toni is one of the jins tipped to make it to the Philippine team that will compete in the 2012 London Olympics.
