Amit nagsubi ng P1.3M sa Korean 9-Ball

MANILA, Philippines — Winakasan ni Rubilen Amit ang kanyang nakaraang dalawang runner-up finishes matapos pagreynahan ang Guri International 9-Ball Championship sa Guri Sports Complex sa South Korea noong Linggo.

Sumargo si Amit, nakuntento sa silver medal sa nakaraang Southeast Asian Games sa Malaysia at sa Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games sa Turkmenistan, ng 9-2 panalo laban kay Taiwanese Wei Tzu Chien sa finals.

“I’d like to thank God for giving me this victory. For the longest time I’ve been playing as a professional, this was a breakthrough 9-ball event championship,” sabi ni Amit, ang two-time world 10-ball titlist.

Ibinulsa ni Amit ang premyong 30,000,000 Korean o P1.3 milyon.

Samantala, nakatikim naman si Chezka Centeno, tumalo kay Amit para sa gold medal sa 2017 Southeast Asian  Games, ng 5-9 kabiguan kay Kelly Fisher sa Last 16.

Nabigo naman si Johann Chua na magkampeon sa men’s division nang makalasap ng 10-11 pagkatalo kay Taiwanese Liu Cheng Chieh sa finals.

Nakapasok si Chua sa finals matapos ta-lunin sina Korean Ko Tae Young sa Last-16, 11-4; Taiwanese Cheng Jun Lin sa quarters, 11-8 at kababayang si Jeffrey Ignacio, 11-8 sa semis.

Nasibak naman si Carlo Biado, ang reigning World Games titlist, sa Last-16 makaraang yumukod kay Austrian Albin Ouschan, 7-11. –
