Orcollo nalo ng $3K sa Swanson 9-Ball

MANILA, Philippines - Muling pinatunayan ni Dennis ‘Robocop’ Orcollo ang kanyang pagiging isa sa mga bigating Filipino cue masters nang biguin si Jayson Shaw ng Scotland, 13-3 sa final round para pagharian ang 17th Jay Swanson Memorial 9 Ball Tournament sa Hard Times Billiards sa Bellflower, Los Angeles, California.

Sa kanyang panalo, tumanggap si Orcollo ng premyong $3,000, habang nakuha ni Shaw ang $1,500.  Nauwi naman ni Rodney ‘The Rocket’ Morris ng USA ang $1,000 para sa third place.

Nakalapit si Orcollo sa hot seat match matapos talunin sina Oscar Dominguez ng Mexico at Morris. Pinayukod naman niya si Shaw sa hot seat match para makaabante sa final round.

Nakapuwersa si Shaw ng rematch kay Orcollo matapos talunin si Morris para sa last final berth.

“I want to show through my actions that athletic excellence can be achieved with dedication, hard work and support,” sabi ni Orcollo, ang 2011 PSA Athlete of the Year at 2011 Southeast Asian Games gold medalist.

Ito ang ikatlong major title ng pambato ng Surigao ngayong 2013 matapos maghari sa nakaraang Derby City Classic Bigfoot 10-Ball Challenge sa Horseshoe Casino and Hotel Elizabeth sa Indiana.

Sa nasabing torneo tinalo ni Orcollo si Niels ‘The Terminator’ Feijen ng Netherlands sa finals para sa premyong $20,000 kasunod ang pangingibabaw sa 2013 US Bar Table Championships Men’s 10-Ball sa Grand Sierra Resort & Casino sa Reno, Nevada noong Pebrero 25.
