Ang pinakamalaking itlog ay naglalaman ng 6 grams ng protein at 80 calories. Dagdagan pa ng amino acids, omega-3 fatty acids, vitamin A, iron, zinc, phosphorus, at DHA. Ang itlog ay mayaman din sa vitamin B12 na maganda para sa mga ve­getarian. Ang itlog ay maaaring magtagal ng tatlo hanggang apat na linggo na ang iba ay inilalagay pa sa refrigerator para mapanatili ang sariwa ng egg.
