2019 Palarong Pambansa

DAVAO CITY  , Philippines  —   Simula na ng agawan sa gintong medalya sa opisyal na pagbubukas ng 2019 Palarong Pambansa ngayon  dito sa Davao City-University of the Philippines-Mindanao Sports Complex.

Kaagad itinaya ang 17 gold medals sa athletics sa hanay ng 17 rehiyon, kasama ang nagdedepensang National Capital Region.

Ang mga final events sa athletics ay sa secon­dary girls’ 3,000-meter run, secondary boys’ long jump, secondary girls’ discus throw, elementary boys’ long jump, elementary girls’ discus throw, elementary girls’ at boys’ 400m hurdle, secondary boys’ at girls’ 400m hurdle, secondary boys’ at girls’ 100m, elementary girls’ at boys’ 100m, secondary at elementary girls’ long jump at secondary at elementary boys’ discus throw.

Sisimulan din ang mga labanan sa rhythmic gymnastics, softball, baseball, basketball, volleyball, chess, sepak takraw, table tennis, lawn tennis at football.

Paglalabanan naman bukas sa unang araw ng swimming event ang nakatayang 18 gold medals.

Makakasabay ng pagsisimula ng mga kompetisyon sa swimming ang basketball 3x3, wushu, wrestling at artistic at aerobic gymnastics.

Samantala, hangad naman ng host Davao City na makuha ang No. 5 sa overall standings matapos pumuwesto sa No. 9 noong 2018 Palarong Pambansa sa Vigan, Ilocos Sur.

Pinamunuan ni Pa­ngu­long Rodrigo Duterte ang makulay na opening ceremony.

“As you compete in the different events, which Davao City will host for the first time, I trust that you will uphold the noble objectives of this program, inclu­ding the promotion of greater peace and understanding among our people through sports,” ani ng Presidente sa kanyang speech.
