Lacierda clarification

The Philippine Star

This is to clarify the article entitled “No immediate relief for Jinggoy” printed on page 4 of your paper today (May 22), specifically under the subheading “Aquino has no copy of Napoles list.”

The quotes have been taken out of context. The transcript of the press briefing held yesterday, May 21, shows for the record that I had been referring not to a specific list, but to the various lists currently circulating in the media.

In the quotes your paper used, I had been responding to questions about the PALACE being responsible for releasing the different sets of lists, and was therefore referring to those lists as the ones not in the President’s possession. —EDWIN LACIERDA, Presidential spokesperson
