Money in road works

THE EAR - The Freeman

REPAIR. A retired employee of a national agency tasked to supervise road repair blew his top when he drove passed the national highway in San Fernando town as the traffic flow was stuck by a road repair. He told The Ear: "Kinsang kaspa di mo-ulbo nga pag-agi nako two weeks ago padung ko Dumaguete, mao ra gihapon ang bangag sa karsada wa gihapon matabuni."

RACKET. The same retired employee from DPWH told The Ear that he remember when he was still in the agency that contractors and certain officials were in cahoots in delaying the finishing of the road works on time. He quipped: "Makaginansiya man gud sila'g dako kun langayon na bay. Kay daghan ikarga ngalan as ovetime workers, pero ghost employees ra na. Mas langay ang project, mas dako ilang kita."
