Self-defense course

SELF DEFENSE. Some 50 housewives living with their families in San Nicolas, Binondo, Manila are taking up lessons in self-defense using karate and eskrima or arnis. A Cebuano eskrima master acts as instructor for free.

CEBUANO PRIEST. A Cebuano priest who had served at the parish in the North Harbor initiated this self-defense course for wives many of whom had been battered wives. “Maayo na mo-eskrima ug mo-karate ang mga asawa pero maluoy mo-batter sa hubog nilang bana,” an Ear informer, a Cebuano resident of Binondo, said.
