ZAMBOANGA CITY, Philippines — The Philippine Navy seized P40 million worth of smuggled cigarettes in three maritime patrol operations last week in Basilan and Zamboanga City, the Western Mindanao Naval Command said.
WMNC chief Rear Adm. Constancio Arturo Reyes Jr. said the patrols off Tolonpisa and Kaulauanauan islands in Basilan as well as off Barangay Recodo here led to the confiscation of 756 master cases of undocumented foreign-branded cigarettes.
