MANILA, Philippines — The police Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) has a new chief in Brig. Gen. Christopher Abrahano.

Abrahano, a member of the Philippine National Police Academy “Kaagapay” Class of 1996, replaced Brig. Gen. Romeo Macapaz.

Macapaz was appointed head of the Soccsksargen police, which has operational control over the police in South Cotabato, Cotabato, Sultan Kudarat, Sarangani and General Santos City.

Three other senior police officials got new posts. Among them is Brig. Gen. Marcial Magistrado, who was designated as Caraga police director.

Brig. Gen. Arnold Ardiente was designated executive officer of the Area Police Command in the Visayas.

Col. Rodelio Samson was promoted as deputy regional director for administration of the Cagayan Valley police.

The new assignments took effect yesterday.
