First Lady brings food packs to flood victims

MANILA, Philippines — First Lady Liza Marcos on Tuesday led the distribution of relief goods to Manila residents who were affected by flooding caused by monsoon rains.
Marcos was joined by Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) general manager Melquiades Robles in distributing “charitimba” food packs to residents of Legarda street in Sampaloc.
In a video posted on the PCSO’s Facebook account, Marcos was seen distributing plastic containers, telling the recipients, “Galing sa asawa ko.”
President Marcos returned to Manila from a working visit to the US on Wednesday night.
Each container contained rice, canned goods, coffee and instant noodles.
The First Lady was also accompanied by Philippine National Police chief Gen. Nicolas Torre III during the aid distribution.
The PCSO said the initiative is part of its corporate social responsibility.
