MANILA, Philippines — Taguig has launched the first local government unit-supervised Disability Resource and Development Center in the country.

The six-story facility, which is located in Barangay North Signal, offers free medical services for persons with disability (PWD).

“The center offers speech therapy as part of its comprehensive range of free services, alongside adult and pediatric physical and occupational therapy, as well as consultations with a rehabilitation medical doctor and developmental pediatrician,” the city government said in a statement.

The center also facilitates the application, processing and issuance of PWD identification cards and hosts free livelihood and developmental training programs.

The facility also houses an e-library accessible to all Taguig residents.

Mayor Lani Cayetano said the center is a testament to the city government’s unwavering dedication to inclusivity and empowerment.

“This is proof that in Taguig, we don’t just say that we love PWDs. There is tangible action and program,” Cayetano said.
