Man missing in Lingayen

LINGAYEN, Pangasinan, Philippines — A backhoe operator was reported missing after he was swept into the deep portion of the water when he went swimming on a beach in Barangay Libsong East in this town on Monday.

Jeyreyko Ayyato, 49, of Itogon, Benguet reportedly failed to resurface when he went swimming as soon as he woke up after a drinking spree with his relatives at 4 p.m.

Ayyato and his family members had checked in at the resort on Sunday to celebrate Christmas.

Members of the municipal disaster risk reduction and management office said emergency responders who conducted search and retrieval operations did not find the victim.
