5 PNP officials get new posts

MANILA, Philippines — Five ranking officials of the Philippine National Police were reassigned yesterday to key posts in the first round of reshuffle under the leadership of PNP chief Gen. Benjamin Acorda Jr.

Acorda said the new appointments reflect the PNP’s commitment to ensuring effective leadership and management in various police units.

Brig. Gen. Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr. was designated officer-in-charge of the PNP Directorate for Intelligence.

Nartatez briefly headed the Directorate for Comptrollership.

Taking over Nartatez’s post as the PNP chief comptroller is Brig. Gen. Rommel Francisco Marbil, former director of the Eastern Visayas police.

Brig. Gen. Vincent Calanoga was named chief of the Eastern Visayas police. Brig. Gen. Roger Quesada was designated as acting deputy regional director for administration of the Bicol police.

Brig. Gen. Limuel Obon is the new head of the PNP’s Human Rights Affairs Office.
